Sisyphus

Sisyphus is a VR descent into the endless cadence of modern labour. Inspired by the Greek myth, you find yourself climbing a stark, modular staircase, each step accompanied by the familiar ambience of office life—notification tones, printers, elevator chimes, quiet conversations, the hum of fluorescent lights. These sounds become the boulder you push, small pressures accumulating into a larger weight. At the peak, instead of relief, a quiet reset returns you to the base, the cycle reborn. In its looping structure, the work reframes Sisyphus not as a tragic hero but as a contemporary professional: endlessly ascending tasks, emails, deadlines—an echo of Camus’ provocation to “imagine Sisyphus happy.” Here, the challenge is not the climb, but recognising the absurd repetition we accept, and what it might mean to step off the stairs entirely.
Monk by the Sea —
Three Meditations

Inspired by Caspar David Friedrich’s austere vision of a lone figure facing the immensity of nature, this VR experience reimagines contemplation as movement. Instead of standing still beside the sea, the participant is guided through three elemental landscapes: desert, jungle, and ocean. Each environment offers its own sound-bath—wind sweeping across dunes, the layered calls of rainforest life, the deep pulse of the tide—inviting a form of sensory immersion that replaces human drama with natural cadence.
